Roger Hoit

Roger Hoit serves as a Managing Director at Moelis & Company, where his primary focus lies in providing strategic guidance to financial sponsor clients. With over 25 years of experience in investment banking, he boasts a wealth of expertise in executing various corporate finance transactions, ranging from M&A to leveraged buyouts, equity and debt financings, and capital structure advisory services. As the Chairman of the Private Equity Solutions Group, his clientele encompasses some of the largest Private Equity, Alternative Asset Management, and Family Office firms worldwide. He operates from Moelis & Company's West Palm Beach, Florida office, leveraging his extensive industry knowledge to deliver tailored solutions to his clients.

 

Before joining Moelis & Company, Roger held prominent positions in leading financial institutions. Notably, he served as a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley within the Global Financial Sponsors Group, where he played a pivotal role in building a distinguished franchise, offering strategic advice to financial sponsors and their portfolio companies on various transactions and investment opportunities. Prior to his tenure at Morgan Stanley, he held key roles as Managing Director at SG Cowen, a division of Société Générale, and as Managing Director and Partner at Gleacher & Co., further enriching his professional journey in investment banking.

 

Hoit kickstarted his career at PaineWebber Incorporated, laying the groundwork for his successful trajectory in the finance industry. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Amherst College, underscoring his academic solid foundation in the field. Beyond his professional endeavors, he is widely recognized as an accomplished amateur golfer with a notable presence both nationally and internationally. He has competed in over 25 National Championships organized by the USGA and the Royal & Ancient, including three professional "Major Championships" and various other prestigious tournaments such as the United States Senior Open Championships and the British Senior Open Championship.

 

Recently, Roger Hoit represented the victorious United States team in The Bridges Cup, a bi-annual competition that pits top amateur golfers from the U.S. against an international team, showcasing his exceptional talent and sportsmanship on a global platform. He has also garnered a distinguished record as a competitor in numerous prestigious Amateur Invitational tournaments, further solidifying his reputation as a formidable force in the golfing community.
